Animal and Customer Care Technician
(Full- and part-time / Quakertown)

Animal Behavior Assistant
(Full-time / Split time between Lahaska and Quakertown)

Bucks County SPCA is hiring for a full-time team member on our Animal Behavior team. This person will split their time between our shelters in Lahaska and Quakertown. The essential functions of this job will require the applicant to be comfortable with shelter animals with an unknown history, including some who may be aggressive. Animal evaluations, training to help with adoption placement, behavior modification and environmental enrichment are all crucial functions. The applicant should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with cats and dogs in a shelter environment. They should also have skills in clicker training and a working knowledge of positive reinforcement, both in use and instructing other people. The applicant will need to be professional, respectful, and positive when dealing with all team members, volunteers and members of the public. Please submit resume and cover letter to HR@bcspca.org.

Lead Clinic Technician
(Full-time / Lahaska)

The Lead Clinic Technician is responsible for assisting the Veterinarian in surgery and with medical examinations. This person will function as the primary technician at our Lahaska facility, leading the tech team on surgery and on non-surgery days. The Lead Clinic Technician is responsible for performing daily medical rounds and weekly shelter rounds with a member of the Operations team. They will assist with the public clinic, particularly in the absence of the Clinic Manager, and serve as a back-up for appointment making, reminder phone calls, and triaging post-operative concerns. The Lead Clinic Technician will also be assigned to perform basic animal care and husbandry, initial physical examinations for incoming animals, vaccinate and medicate shelter animals and schedule animals for examinations as needed. Staff Veterinarian
(Full-time /Split time between Lahaska and Quakertown)

The Shelter Medicine program is a key component in the BCSPCA’s lifesaving efforts. The Staff Veterinarian is an integral member of the Shelter Medicine department, bringing his/her knowledge of shelter animal care, shelter animal health management and surgical expertise to the team. The Staff Veterinarian will be responsible for performing surgical procedures (primarily spay/neuter of cats, dogs and rabbits) and physical examinations on healthy and sick shelter animals. This position requires knowledge of and an interest in Shelter Medicine.

The Staff Veterinarian position is an exempt, full time, 40 hours per week position, which includes one day on the weekend. This position is split between our Lahaska and Quakertown shelters.
