Ribbon Cut at New Upper Bucks Shelter!

-0309
BCSPCA Board Treasurer Diane B. Glossman, County Commissioner Rob Loughery, PA State Senator Bob Mensch, BCSPCA Board President Marcia Hill, BCSPCA Executive Director Anne Irwin, Richland Township Manager Stephen Sechriest, and BCSPCA Upper Bucks Shelter Manager Christopher Langiotti cut a celebratory ribbon at our new facility in Richland Township on January 14, 2012.  They were joined by the canine Special Advisor to our Centennial Campaign, Ollie the Collie.  The new shelter will be open for admissions and adoptions in February!  Stay tuned for more information.  Thank you to everyone in the community who made this wonderful progress possible!

Anything's Pawsible Party Goes On!  Snow, what snow?!

We didn't miss a beat when October's freak snow storm forced us to reschedule the Anything's Pawsible Party.  Guests convened at Keenan Motors in Doylestown just one week later to celebrate Bucks County SPCA miracles big and small.  The evening began with cocktails on the "village street" at Keenan, and our friends then entered the main showroom, transformed by event designer Renny Reynolds and artist Claudia Funke, for dinner and more festivities.   It was a wonderful evening, made even more special because many of our shelter dogs were with us.  Our special guest was "Nittany" and her mom Melissa.  Melissa poignantly told the story of the little Yorkie who had been rescued by BCSPCA and township officials from an illegal breeding operation.  On behalf of "Nittany" and the thousands of animals who come through our shelter doors every year, we'd like to thank the following people for making this year's gala event the most successful ever!!!

Toward the Next 100 Years!

Bucks County SPCA Board President Marcia Hill and Executive Director Anne Irwin recently led the team breaking ground on our new animal shelter in Richland Township.  The October 6th ceremony also marked the public launch of our $5 million Centennial Campaign, the first major fundraising effort in our almost one hundred year history.

The distinguished group was joined by BCSPCA volunteers escorting some of our adoptable dogs.  The Campaign slogan “Dig Deep” was taken to heart as the dogs “lent their paws” to the groundbreaking effort!
