Help from Home

There are many ways to help the Bucks County SPCA and animals in our community right from home. Some of these volunteering opportunities require little or no training. Check out the list below to help animals today.

Pads for Pets:

Do you love to sew?  If so, we would love your help to make pets beds for adoptable and adopted pets.  You can easily turn donated blankets, sheets, mattress pads and pillow cases into comfy pads for pets.  Simply contact Diane at (215) 794-7425 ext 101 if you are interested and to schedule an appointment to pick up some donations to get started.  See Pet Pad Instructions (pdf) for details on how to make these great beds.  Finished Pet Pad Sizes:
Cat Pad                         22" x 15 ½”
Small Dog Pad               26” x 16 ½”
Medium Dog Pad            36 x 21 ¾”
Large Dog Pad               46 x 31 ½”

Save Redner’s Receipts:

Redner’s sponsors a cash back program to help organizations like The Bucks County SPCA raise necessary funds to care for animals. Use you club card when you shop and save your receipts then mail them to Bucks County SPCA. It is so easy to help animals.

Genuardi’s Escrip Program:

Escrip works with your Genuardi’s Club Card to generate funds which will be donated to the Bucks County SPCA. The more your spend on groceries, the larger the contribution. Sign up is easy. Click to visit www.escrip.com or fill out the Escrip form and drop it off at any Genuardi’s. This program requires annual registration.

Make Feathered Cat Toys:

Do you enjoy crafts?  If you do then this is purr-fect!  These easy to make, inexpensive toys are great fun for adoptable cats and kittens at the shelter.  Feathered cat toys can also help pet parents bond with their newly adopted cat.  Download Feathered Cat Toy Instructions as a pdf.  Donate the toys monday-saturday, 10-4pm or until 7pm on tuesdays.

Collecting Change:

Big changes are made in small measures is a great motto for this program.  Businesses interested in helping animals can host a Bucks County SPCA canister in their store.  You can help too!  You may have seen our canisters in your neighborhood, in some of your favorite stores.  Call Diane (215) 794-7425 to sign up to collect change.

Speak Up about Spay and Neuter:

Pet over-population is wide spread community issue. No one person is the sole cause but many people can be part of the solution. Ask people to please spay and neuter their pets, cats especially. Every summer, shelters across the USA see an influx of kittens that compete with adult cats for homes. Every un-altered pet can contribute as many as 10-15 offspring yearly to the pet overpopulation problem. Prevention is worth a pound of cure. Help raise money to help a friend or neighbor get their pet spayed or neutered. Download this educational flyer about the Benefits of Spaying and Neutering.  Call Friends of Animals 1-800-321-7387 for a low cost spay/neuter certificate.

Start a ________ Drive

Help collect whatever the shelter is most in need of! Donations of toys, supplies, and bedding help animals at the SPCA and in the surrounding community. Check our Wish List regularly to see what we are most in need of then call us to arrange the drive. Bucks County SPCA takes new and clean, slightly used items. All donations can be brought to the shelter Mon-Sat from 10-4pm. Branch out from there! Start at home then let other family and friends know you are collecting.

Do you like to BAKE?

Well this is a fun project for the entire family while at the same time you can support a great non-profit organization. Organize a bake sale to raise money for homeless animals.  If you are interested, contact Diane at (215) 794-7425.

Make Adoption Your First Option

Bucks County SPCA sees 4,000 animals yearly in need of homes. We see all types of purebred and mixed breed dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, rabbits, hamsters, birds, rats, guinea pigs, and mice. All of the pets featured on our website were adopted from the Bucks County SPCA. Don’t buy from a puppy mill/pet store when there are so many animals in need! View our pets 24 hours, 7 days a week under Browse the Kennel. It’s the best place to find a best friend. E-mail pictures of adoptable pets to friends and family member who are looking to adopt. Check www.petfinder.com for type and breed specific searches to find your next companion.

Adoption Flyer:  You can help pets find homes

You can help Bucks County SPCA adoptables find their forever homes by participating in this program.  It's as simple as downloading and printing our adoption flyers to post in local businesses or pass along to friends and family who are looking for a pet.  This program has proven successful in finding homes for the animals who need it most.  Your participation in this program will make difference in an animal's life.
