The Bucks County SPCA is seeking an enthusiastic experienced leader for the role of Director of Upper Bucks Animal Care Center. This full-time position reports to the Executive Director and supervises approximately 9 staff members. Animal and Customer Care Attendant
(Part-time weekends and holidays / Lahaska)
Animal and Customer Care Attendant responsibilities include both kennel and office work. Duties include and are not limited to kennel cleaning, animal handling, answering phones, admitting animals, screening for adoptions and responding to after-hours emergencies. The Clinic Manager is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of the BCSPCA outpatient public spay/neuter clinic and balancing that with the internal need for services for our shelter animals. The Clinic Manager will be asked to provide support and assistance to the clinic staff during surgery hours and may also be assigned to perform basic animal care and husbandry, initial physical examinations for incoming animals, assist with veterinary rounds, vaccinate and medicate shelter animals, and schedule animals for examinations as needed.

The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the BCSPCA Outreach Program. The position is located at our Lahaska animal care facility and will primarily focus on efforts in the Central and Lower Bucks areas. Support may be needed for efforts throughout the county, as needed. The position will be the first point of contact for volunteers at our Lahaska facility. Responsibilities will include orientation, training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers, in close coordination with the Volunteer Manager and Foster and Offsite Manager. The Outreach Coordinator will work with the Foster and Offsite Manager, Lahaska management, the Director of Shelter Medicine and clinic staff and the Director of Animal Behavior and Behavior Assistant to coordinate the Lahaska based foster program and to support offsite adoption centers.

The shelter medicine program is a key component in our efforts to achieve BCSPCA’s objectives focused on caring for animals and improving placement rates. The Staff Veterinarian is a key member of the Shelter Medicine department, bringing his/her knowledge of shelter animal care and surgical expertise to the team. The Staff Veterinarian will be responsible for performing surgical procedures (primarily spay/neuter of cats, dogs and rabbits) and physical examinations on healthy and sick shelter animals. This position requires knowledge of and an interest in Shelter Medicine.
The Staff Veterinarian position is an exempt, part time, 20 hours per week position, which includes one half day on the weekend.
