Animal and Customer Care Technician
(Full-time and Part-time / Lahaska)
Animal and Customer Care Attendant responsibilities include both kennel and customer service work. Duties include kennel cleaning, animal handling, answering phones, admitting animals, processing adoptions and responding to after-hours emergencies. Customer service skills are a must and a driver’s license is required. Stop in to apply in person or call for more information.
(Part-time /Split time between Lahaska and Quakertown)
The shelter medicine program is a key component in our efforts to achieve BCSPCA’s objectives focused on caring for animals and improving placement rates. The Staff Veterinarian is a key member of the Shelter Medicine department, bringing his/her knowledge of shelter animal care and surgical expertise to the team. The Staff Veterinarian will be responsible for performing surgical procedures (primarily spay/neuter of cats, dogs and rabbits) and physical examinations on healthy and sick shelter animals. This position requires knowledge of and an interest in Shelter Medicine.
The Staff Veterinarian position is an exempt, part time, 20 hours per week position, which includes one half day on the weekend.
(Part-time / Quakertown)
The Clinic Technician is responsible for assisting the Veterinarian in surgery and with medical examinations. The technician may also be assigned to perform basic animal care and husbandry, initial physical examinations for incoming animals, assist with veterinary rounds, vaccinate and medicate shelter animals, and schedule animals for examinations as needed.
Experience working in an animal shelter or veterinary hospital is required. This is a part time position, approximately 16 hours per week.
